HTEC launches equity crowdfunding campaign

HTEC hopes to raise at least $1,000,000 to support the build-out of retail hydrogen refueling networks across Canada

VANCOUVER, September 19, 2018 – HTEC today launched a direct-equity campaign on Vancouver-based crowdfunding platform, FrontFundr. The campaign is part of strategic fundraising initiatives underway to support HTEC’s planned growth and hydrogen infrastructure build-out.

“Every time we talk about what we do and why, we hear from people like us. People who are passionate and enthusiastic about hydrogen for transportation and who want FCEVs to be part of a portfolio of zero-emission mobility choices for consumers,” says Colin Armstrong, HTEC’s President and CEO. “Crowdfunding offers an amazing opportunity to build longer-term connections with regular Canadians who believe in what HTEC is doing and want to invest in a successful, early-stage company operating in BC’s world-leading hydrogen and fuel cell sector.”

In June, HTEC opened Canada’s first retail hydrogen refuelling station in Vancouver. This station is the first in a six-station network HTEC is building in Greater Vancouver and Victoria to enable the deployment of the first 1,000 fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in the province. The majority of contracts are already in place for the six stations, including three HTEC is building in partnership with Shell. The network is scheduled for completion in 2020.
